When you think of conversation, there’s a strong image of face-to-face, verbal communication. While this method is convenient and can be used broadly, it is primitive and spontaneous, which is not preferable for engineers, at least.
That’s where indirect conversation comes into play. Indirect conversation is communicating by showing each other linguistically expressed outcomes. Here are some examples:
